Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Reza Amiri Moghadam on Thursday emphasized that Iran does not desire war but asserts its right to self-defense against any form of external aggression. In a media briefing at the Iranian embassy in Islamabad, he stated that Iran does not want war and still hopes for a peaceful resolution.
During recent protests in Iran, 3,117 people were killed in violent incidents while 690 terrorists were eliminated, according to Amiri Moghadam. He added that 305 ambulances and buses as well as 24 gas stations were destroyed. Furthermore, he mentioned that 700 shops, 300 houses, and 750 banks were targeted.
Violent mobs attacked 414 government buildings and 749 police stations, with 120 health centers, 200 schools, and 350 mosques also being destroyed. He expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its support in efforts to prevent war, emphasizing that Iran has no intentions of targeting any head of state and remains focused on diplomatic solutions.
