Iran and Russia have signed a $25 billion MoU to boost nuclear energy collaboration. The agreement aims to enhance Iran’s nuclear infrastructure through joint projects with Russia’s state nuclear corporation.
At an online Moscow conference, Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali highlighted key initiatives, including Bushehr plant expansion and the “Hormoz Project,” valued at around $25 billion. This project involves expanding nuclear capacity for peaceful energy production, with participation from Iran’s private sector and Russia’s state nuclear energy company.
Jalali also noted ongoing discussions on small-scale nuclear power plants, expressing hope that these initiatives will soon move into implementation phases. Beyond nuclear cooperation, the ambassador pointed to growing collaboration in areas such as energy transit and trade with Eurasian countries.
