Iran’s President Masoud Peyvanzan announces release of $6 billion frozen assets in Qatar

Iranian President Masoud Peyvanzan stated on Monday that $6 billion of Iran’s frozen assets held in Qatar will be released and transferred back to the country under recent arrangements, according to IRNA news agency. The funds represent half of the total $12 billion in Iranian assets currently held in Qatar.

Peyvanzan spoke during a meeting with Ayatollah Mousa Shobeiri Zanjani about efforts to secure the return of the remaining balance. He described this development as part of broader achievements resulting from Iran’s resilience against external pressure, he said.

Despite losses of senior officials and military commanders, Peyvanzan claimed that Iran’s public, armed forces, and government acted together to prevent adversaries from achieving their objectives. The president accused the US and Israel of attempting to destabilize Iran through economic pressure and attacks on infrastructure, including gas production facilities, steel plants, and petrochemical sector.

He also highlighted a recent Pakistan-mediated agreement between Iran and the United States as a major victory for Iranian people, which included removal of sanctions on Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors. The president reaffirmed Tehran’s stance that its nuclear program is not aimed at developing weapons but solely to meet national needs within declared policies.
