The Islamabad administration has imposed Section 144, banning gatherings of five or more people, rallies, and demonstrations across the capital city ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest on November 24.

According to a notification issued by Additional District Magistrate Usman Ashraf, the restrictions will remain in effect for two months due to concerns over law and order, potential unlawful assemblies, and security risks.

The ban includes Islamabad’s Red Zone, housing key government buildings and diplomatic missions. Violations during this period will be subject to investigation and legal proceedings even after the restrictions expire.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has described the November 24 protest as a “decisive call” issued by PTI founder Imran Khan. He assured that the protest would persist until PTI’s demands are met.

At a consultative meeting, Gandapur urged party leaders and parliamentarians to mobilize supporters, conduct union-level meetings, and finalize arrangements to ensure a massive turnout in Islamabad. “We will not back down until our demands are fulfilled,” he stated.
