Islamabad IT Park to Create 5,000+ Jobs by 2025: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan, Park Ki Jun, to discuss the ongoing development of IT parks in Islamabad and Karachi, as well as boosting bilateral cooperation. The meeting, also attended by the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, focused on Exim Bank’s role in supporting these projects.

Ahsan Iqbal confirmed the Islamabad IT Park’s completion by February 2025, which will offer office space for over 130 startups and SMEs. He emphasized the project’s significance in strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy and IT sector, stating that it will create more than 5,000 jobs. The Karachi IT Park is set for an inauguration in October 2024.

Ambassador Park Ki Jun reiterated Korea’s support for Pakistan’s IT development initiatives and the timely completion of the Islamabad IT Park. The park is projected to enhance IT exports and attract tech giants such as Google, IBM, and Microsoft, further positioning Pakistan as a growing hub for IT development.
