Japan Grants Rs 3.4 Million for Science Lab at Sindh’ Rural School

Japan has provided a $12,436 (Rs 3.4 million) grant to Dawn Public Secondary School in Khairpur to upgrade its science laboratory.

The agreement was signed at the Japanese Consulate in Karachi between Consul General Hattori Masaru and school operator Sanaullah Ujan. The funding will equip students from grades 8 to 10 with a fully functional lab, eliminating the need to attend science classes elsewhere.

The initiative is expected to reduce dropout rates, particularly among female students, by improving access to quality education.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hattori Masaru reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting education in Pakistan, expressing hope that the project would help students secure better academic and career opportunities.
