Japanese Consul General Hattori Masaru formally presented 110 books to Greenwich University Karachi on Wednesday. The handover was part of the Read Japan Project’s cultural outreach initiative.
The ceremony at the university’s Karachi campus marked a significant step in the project’s mission to deepen global understanding of Japan.
The donated books covered various subjects, including Japanese history, arts, politics, literature, and philosophy.
Consul General Hattori emphasized the importance of academic and cultural exchange. He said such initiatives strengthen long-standing ties between Japan and Pakistan.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Naveed Mughal welcomed the gesture. He noted that the Japanese Consulate in Karachi has consistently supported Greenwich University. He also highlighted Japan’s disciplined approach to national development, calling for further collaboration with the Tokyo Foundation and expressing hope for future cooperation.
