JazzCash Partners with Spotify to Enable Seamless Premium Subscription Payments

JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading fintech platform, has partnered with Spotify, the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service, to enable seamless payments for Spotify Premium subscriptions. This collaboration will allow users to subscribe to Spotify Premium with seamless payments using JazzCash, making the platform accessible to millions nationwide.

As e-commerce payments continue to expand rapidly in Pakistan, transactions soared to 118 million in Q1 FY25. Notably, a remarkable 91% of these transactions were facilitated through digital wallets, highlighting a significant shift towards digital payment methods, as reported in the latest Payment Systems Review.

Building on its extensive network, JazzCash stands out with over 2,000 online merchants integrated into its platform and 2 million unique customers engaging in e-commerce transactions each month. This expansive reach underscores its crucial role in the e-commerce payments landscape. In 2024 alone, the platform processed over PKR 160 billion in e-commerce payments, highlighting its significant impact and growing presence in the digital payments arena.

Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, commented on the partnership, stating, “A large part of Pakistan’s population remains underbanked, relying heavily on fintech platforms like JazzCash. Speaking about the partnership, Marwen Ben Messaoud, Growth Lead, South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, said, “We are excited to announce our partnership with JazzCash, reinforcing Spotify’s commitment to strengthening its local presence in Pakistan. This collaboration allows us to connect with both existing and potential users, many of whom are younger and deeply passionate about music. Through this partnership, we’re making it easier for music fans to enjoy Spotify Premium, giving them access to our vast catalog of over 100 million songs with ad-free streaming, offline downloads, and personalized features – all at an exceptional value they will truly appreciate.”

The partnership grants easier access to Spotify Premium’s ad-free music, downloads, and exclusive features like AI DJ and Jam without needing a bank account. Users select a plan in the Spotify app, choose JazzCash as a payment method, and confirm the subscription. Priced at PKR 349 per month, the Premium Individual plan offers an affordable way to stream uninterrupted music from over 100 million tracks.

As part of the launch, JazzCash and Spotify are offering exclusive promotions for new users. The “Always-On” offer provides two months of Spotify Premium for the price of one. Additionally, a limited-time promotion until December 31, 2024, gives new subscribers four months of Spotify Premium for the price of one.
