The Karachi administration has enforced a complete ban on bathing, diving, and swimming in the sea for a month due to high tide and turbulent waves.

A notification issued by Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi states that the ban on “swimming, bathing, diving, and wading in the sea/beaches and coastal lines within the territorial limits of Karachi” will be in effect from June 28 to July 27.

The decision, recommended by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, is a precautionary measure as high tides and turbulent waves have made the sea hazardous, posing significant risks to swimmers and bathers.

Police have been directed to register complaints under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code against violators of the ban imposed under Section 144 of the criminal procedure code.
