KP Grants Rs40m for Highways, Increases Internships to 6,000

Pakhtunkhwa Highways Council Approves Budget Increase

Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired a meeting of the 24th session of the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Council. The council approved an increase in the annual operational grant for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority from 30 million to 40 million rupees.

Auction and Internship Opportunities

The Chief Minister directed that more funds be allocated for major development projects under the authority’s upcoming budget. Additionally, he ordered a 20 percent increase in internship seats, raising them from 5,000 to 6,000, to provide more opportunities for youth across the province.

Ease of Doing Business and Service Regulations

Afridi instructed the authority not to collect right-of-way charges, emphasizing the promotion of ease of doing business. The council also approved amendments to the Service Regulations 2019, along with retirement benefits and death compensation for employees.

Feasibility Study for Gulabad to Sarbala Road

The meeting decided in principle to improve financial assistance for heirs under the Sehat Card scheme in case of employee death. Afridi reiterated the government’s commitment to public welfare and prosperity, aligning with the vision of the party founder.
