KPC elections: Consecutive 14th time, the Democrat panel sweeps victory

In the annual elections of Karachi Press Club (KPC) for 2024, The Democrats panel has done a clean sweep for the 14th consecutive time.

The polling which took place from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday saw great enthusiasm. A large number of KPC members participated in the election process. Election Commissioner Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Khan after the counting process announced the results at the Karachi Press Club.

According to the results, Saeed Sarbazi from the Democrats Panel was elected as president by achieving 845 votes. While his competitor Aftab Hussain received 110 votes. While Shoaib Ahmed was elected on the post of secretary with 843 votes, his competitor Arif Khan got 96 votes. Abdul Rasheed Memon got 758 votes on the position of vice president, Ehitesham Saeed Qureshi stand victorious on the position of treasurer with 806 votes and Muhammad Munsif snatched 726 votes on the position of joint secretary. Shams Kerio, Mona siddiqui, Shazia Hassan, Nawab Qureshi, Shoaib Ahmed, Rana Javed and Noor Mohammad Kalhoro were declared successful on 7 seats. The polling started at 9 am which continued till 5 pm without the break. The election was a contested between candidates from The Democrats' Independent Panel and The Journalist Panel.

Out of 1503 registered member voters, 979 members exercised their right to vote in the Karachi Press Club elections. The press club election saw a frenzy and candidates from all three panels and their supporters continued to campaign vigorously throughout the day to get votes for their respective candidates.
