KW&SC launches rapid overhaul of vital BRT water pipeline

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has begun expedited work to replace a deteriorated 60-inch valve along the BRT corridor with a modern pipeline system, officials said on Saturday.

According to a KW&SC spokesperson, the repair operation commenced early Saturday morning and is expected to be completed within the next 48 hours. The work is being supervised by Chief Engineer WTM Syed Muhammad Ijaz and Superintendent Engineer WTM Tanveer Shaikh.

During the maintenance period, water supply will remain suspended in Saddar Town, Jamshed Road, PIB Colony and Lines Area, the KW&SC spokesperson said. Residents of the affected localities have been urged to use water cautiously until the repair is completed.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), apologized for the temporary inconvenience, noting that the technical upgrade will help ensure a more reliable, efficient and uninterrupted water supply in the future.
