The Karakoram Highway, a lifeline connecting Gilgit-Baltistan to the rest of Pakistan, grapples with severe disruption as landslides triggered by intermittent rain and snowfall render sections impassable.

The local administration issues a stern advisory urging travelers to avoid journeys until full restoration of the vital transportation artery.

Unprecedented weather conditions have blanketed the region, leaving thousands of passengers stranded amidst plummeting temperatures and suspended electricity.

Landslides, compounded by rockfalls triggered by rain, have blocked multiple sections of the highway, including Achar Nallah in Kohistan and the Thore area.

The situation has left passengers, including vulnerable groups such as children, women, and senior citizens, marooned on both sides of the blockade. As authorities mobilize efforts to clear debris and restore connectivity, public safety remains paramount, prompting caution against unnecessary travel along the affected route.
