At the opening, Meghan emphasized transforming awareness into accountability and collective action. She stressed that online harm crosses borders, demographics, incomes, and ideologies, affecting every community due to unsafe digital environments.

The Lost Screen Memorial, originally unveiled in New York in 2025 with nearly 50 families who lost children to online harm, symbolizes remembrance, accountability, and advocacy. Its presence at the World Health Assembly underscores a growing global consensus: urgent collaboration across sectors is needed to protect children online.

Earlier, Meghan faced criticism for posting Lilibet’s photo on social media. She shared an adorable picture of her daughter with a caption, “Mama’s little helper,” before departing for Geneva.
