MOFA Addresses Lahore Liaison Office Concerns, Opens Gujrat Office

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has expressed regret for the inconvenience faced by the public during the initial days of operation at its Liaison Office in Lahore, following its relocation to new premises.

In a statement issued, MOFA highlighted that consular services were temporarily suspended during the transition period. However, since resuming operations on February 1, 2024, dedicated staff members have been working tirelessly to address public needs.

We expect the backlog to clear over the next few days,” stated a spokesperson, while also expressing appreciation for the public’s understanding during the transitional phase.

To alleviate pressure on the Lahore Liaison Office, MOFA announced the opening of its Liaison Office in Gujrat earlier this week. This development is expected to enhance service delivery and facilitate smoother consular processes.

The Ministry remains committed to facilitating the public by providing efficient and timely consular services across its various liaison offices.

For individuals seeking degree attestation, MOFA’s complete process involves submitting documents to the respective offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar, as well as the liaison office in Gujrat. Documents can be submitted in person or through approved courier services, with return times typically taking around two weeks.

It’s important to note that educational documents must first be verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) before undergoing MOFA attestation. Further details on the attestation process can be found on the MOFA website.
