Pakistan’s government has announced a reduction in normal passport processing time from 21 days to 14 days. The move was discussed during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry.
During the session, Naqvi directed officials to expedite work on introducing a business passport system for frequent travelers and professionals. He also announced plans for a fully cashless payment system at passport offices across the country, aiming to eliminate intermediaries and reduce corruption.
The government aims to improve home delivery of passports, making doorstep service more efficient. Naqvi emphasized that ending cash transactions would not only curb corruption but also enhance convenience for citizens. The minister highlighted the need for a dedicated passport authority to oversee these reforms and ensure consistent service quality nationwide.
