Pakistan has overtaken Australia in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, moving into fourth place after a victory over England in Rawalpindi.
The result reflects a period of consistent results for the national side, which has gained ground in the rankings during the home tri series. The team’s recent form has been underpinned by disciplined bowling and a more settled top order.
Australia, a long time occupant of the upper reaches of the table, now sits just behind Pakistan in the standings.
The ranking improvement comes at a useful moment, with Pakistan continuing a packed home schedule that includes further one day internationals and Test cricket.
Team management will be hoping the momentum carries into the next phase of the season.
