On Independence Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the nation’s concerns about inflation and rising electricity bills.
During a ceremony in Islamabad, Sharif acknowledged the public’s frustrations and assured that the government is working on reductions in electricity tariffs. He highlighted the need for lower energy costs to boost Pakistan’s industry, agriculture, and exports and promised a comprehensive economic plan for the next five years.
“I understand the people’s worries about inflation, electricity bills, unemployment, and other issues,” Sharif said during an Independence Day ceremony in Islamabad. “The govt is working tirelessly to provide relief, and soon, we will deliver the good news of reduction in electricity tariffs.”
Sharif also called on the youth to support government efforts for national progress and warned against digital terrorism aimed at undermining Pakistan’s development. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made during the Pakistan Movement and praised Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal for their vision.
The Prime Minister also honored individuals from various sectors, including Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the country in line with the vision of its founders.
