Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) has announced its successful acquisition of the broadcasting rights for the upcoming T20 World Cup, according to a statement released on Monday.

MD of PTV, Shah, highlighted the arduous process involved in securing these rights, emphasizing the resolution of numerous complex issues. He noted the immense popularity of cricket in Pakistan, particularly anticipating the fervor surrounding the Pakistan-India match during the World Cup.

This achievement follows PTV’s earlier acquisition of non-exclusive rights in Pakistan for six men’s and women’s ICC events scheduled from 2024 to 2025. However, notably, PTV opted not to pursue livestreaming or broadcasting rights for the HBL Pakistan Super League 2024 and 2025 from A Sports TV channel, despite the league being the country’s premier T20 cricket event.
