The Prime Minister has declared October 14, 15, and 16, 2024 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) as public holidays within Islamabad Capital Territory and Rawalpindi District.
This decision aims to ensure the smooth organization of the 21st Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting.
As the current chair of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, Pakistan will host the in-person gathering of the regional bloc, which includes major countries such as India, China, Russia, Pakistan, and several Central Asian nations. The meeting will focus on enhancing cooperation and addressing shared challenges across the region.
