Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled an initiative to allocate housing plots to 3,200 journalists, underscoring her commitment to supporting the journalist community.
In a meeting with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari, she directed the Information Ministry to expedite the establishment of the “Journalist Colony Lahore Phase Two” and ensure that all legal requirements are met for swift plot allocation.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that journalists play a vital role alongside the government, describing the allocation of plots as a rightful entitlement rather than a favor. She assured that plots would be distributed fairly, based on merit and legal criteria.
The Punjab Information Ministry will soon invite applications from eligible journalists in Lahore, including members of the Lahore Press Club, with an official advertisement expected soon.
