Qatar Postpones LNG Cargoes to Pakistan

Qatar has postponed five liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments initially scheduled for Pakistan, pushing their delivery back until 2026. This delay comes as Pakistan grapples with ongoing energy challenges, from acute gas shortages to surging demand across the country.

These shipments were part of a long-term supply agreement between the two nations, with Pakistan relying heavily on the partnership to support its energy needs. In response, Pakistani officials are now urgently seeking alternative sources to stabilize the nation’s energy supply amid this unexpected setback.

The postponed deliveries are likely to worsen Pakistan’s energy crisis, which has already left authorities struggling to meet the population’s gas demands. Experts warn the delay could have ripple effects, impacting power generation and industrial production, and placing further strain on Pakistan’s efforts toward economic recovery.
