The Royal Family’s tradition of testing potential brides’ compatibility has been highlighted through their ‘Balmoral Test’. This test, conducted at Balmoral Castle, involved shooting exercises. Former butler Paul Burrell described this as bringing outsiders into the family for inspection.

Royal commentator Amanda Matta noted a similarity to modern families vetting newcomers against existing structures. However, the main difference lies in the conservative standards upheld by the Royal Family, even during private moments.
