The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to declare Monday, August 8, as a Bank Holiday for Zakat deduction purposes. However, employees of these financial entities are advised to continue their routine work as usual. August 8th will be considered a normal working day for staff members; they can attend the office but will not engage in any transactions with customers.
This Bank Holiday aligns with established traditions where eligible accounts receive Zakat deductions on the first day of Ramadan.
