Sharjeel Memon Announces Crackdown on Unregistered Vehicles

Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Information Minister, has declared a crackdown on unregistered vehicles across the province, with impoundment slated to commence after May 10.

Speaking at a news conference in Karachi, Memon urged motorcycle and car owners to register their vehicles promptly to avoid enforcement actions by the excise department.

Highlighting the potential links between unregistered vehicles and criminal activities, Minister Memon emphasized the need for citizens to collect their original number plates from the excise department to comply with regulations. He warned that any unregistered vehicle discovered on the road would face seizure.

In addition to addressing vehicle registration issues, Minister Memon underscored the importance of monitoring staff in educational institutions to combat drug-related crimes. He praised the cooperation of the Sindh Police in these efforts.

Furthermore, Memon mentioned President Asif Ali Zardari's directive for a stringent crackdown on crime and drug trafficking, citing recent law enforcement operations resulting in numerous FIRs filed and substantial seizures of heroin.
