Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced significant changes to the wheat policy, aimed at benefiting small farmers. The removal of restrictions on wheat sale limits and the abolition of the five-bag per acre condition will allow farmers greater freedom to sell their produce.

The government has set a support price for wheat at Rs 3,500 and aims to procure one million metric tons annually. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to farmer-friendly policies.

In an effort to expedite procurement, instructions have been given to speed up operations in districts with lower procurement targets. The provision of fuel subsidies through Sindh Bank within a day has also been introduced as part of these measures.

The provincial minister emphasized that district administration and relevant officials are actively working to ensure farmers face no difficulties. He urged growers to sell their wheat at government centers for prompt payments and access to government facilities.
