Siraj-ul-Haq Resigns as Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer

Siraj-ul-Haq, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, has submitted his resignation citing the party’s performance in the general elections as the reason.

In his resignation letter, Siraj-ul-Haq acknowledged the party’s vigorous campaign efforts but expressed disappointment over the lack of tangible results.

Although tendered on Monday, the resignation was not immediately accepted, indicating a deliberative process within the party hierarchy.

Sources within the party revealed that a meeting of the JI’s majlis-e-shoora has been convened in Lahore on February 17 to deliberate on whether to accept or reject the resignation.
