Sirajul Haq Expresses Hope for Change Ahead of February Elections

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq expressed optimism on Sunday, anticipating an end to corruption and poverty in Pakistan following the upcoming elections scheduled for February 8.

Addressing a public gathering in Rawalpindi, Haq took a swipe at political opponents, emphasizing the need for representatives who genuinely address the public’s concerns.

We want to see those representatives in the assemblies that will address the masses’ problems in real context,” Haq stated, adding that those who have plundered national wealth should be disqualified from politics.

Haq further distanced himself from dynastic politics, asserting, “I am not someone who aspires to see my children in parliament. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s praise for Asif Ali Zardari is unwarranted.”

Earlier, Haq had reiterated his party’s commitment to bringing prosperity to the country, emphasizing the government’s responsibility to protect its citizens and restore the honor of the green passport.

The people are enduring severe hardships due to soaring inflation,” Haq remarked, underscoring the need for good governance as a catalyst for national development.

Reflecting on his party’s manifesto, Haq vowed to prioritize implementation, citing flawed policies as obstacles to progress.

“The political opponents have failed to deliver in the past and will continue to do so in the future,” Haq criticized, advocating for an end to divisive politics and a focus on peace for sustainable development.
