Chief Justice of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, has been cleared by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) in all five complaints filed against him. The first complaint was lodged by Sabghatullah Shah, a Peshawar High Court lawyer, regarding Afridi’s conduct as a PHC judge in 2016. It was dismissed unanimously at the council’s May 14 session.

The second complaint came from Karachi resident Amjad Hussain Durrani, who alleged that a Supreme Court case was dismissed without hearing, constituting misconduct. The council rejected this claim too.

Muhammad Masood, from Vehari, filed the fourth complaint alleging a civil case judgment delivered in March 2023 violated the law and amounted to misconduct. The council also dismissed this.

The final complaint by Amjad Mahmood of Lahore High Court alleged that a lawyer was barred from entering the Supreme Court in 2024. It too was unanimously dismissed by the SJC.
