A plane crash in western France claimed the life of Claude Guillemot, founder of global gaming company Ubisoft. The twin-motor Cessna 421 carrying Guillemot and a flight instructor crashed near La Baule airport on Friday evening.
Mayor Franck Louvrier confirmed both were licensed and experienced pilots. An investigation is underway.
Ubisoft confirmed Guillemot’s death but did not comment further.
Guillemot, who was 69 years old, co-founded Ubisoft with four brothers in 1986. The company has produced popular franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Rayman, and Tom Clancy games.
