Umm-e-Hani Named at Last Minute as Replacements for Pakistan Women’s ODI and T20I Squad

Karachi, 3 February 2026: The women’s national selection committee has announced Umm-e-Hani as a replacement for the injured Rameen Shamim in Pakistan’s ODI and T20I squads for their tour of South Africa. This news was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday.

Rameen suffered a left-hand thumb IPJ dislocation during a training session at National Bank Stadium, Karachi. She is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks and will begin her rehabilitation immediately.

Umm-e-Hani, an off-spinning all-rounder who was recently appointed as Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ captain for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament, has been replaced in the squad by Omaima Sohail. Meanwhile, Hafsa Khalid has been named as the new captain of Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ team for a 20-over tournament taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Pakistan women’s T20I squad is set to depart for South Africa on 7 February, while the Pakistan Women’s ‘A’ team will leave for Bangkok on 10 February.
