In the early hours of Friday, a fire engulfed a multi-story towel factory in Karachi’s Korangi Industrial Area.
Initial information from rescue officials indicated that six fire brigade vehicles are actively engaged in combating the blaze. The fire is said to have originated from the explosion of a PMT transformer, typically mounted on poles for electric utility distribution.
Rescue teams are on-site, working to control the fire. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident. The only individual present in the factory, a watchman, promptly alerted authorities about the fire.
This marks the second fire incident in Karachi this week. Before this, a fire in Karachi’s Saddar mobile market was successfully extinguished after hours of effort, as confirmed by fire brigade authorities. The swift response from rescue teams in both incidents has played a crucial role in preventing potential harm and mitigating the impact on the affected areas.
