Queen Camilla supports UK art with social nod to theatres
The Royal Family has recently made a gesture of goodwill towards the drama fraternity. On an evening, Her Majesty attended a special screening of “Hamnet” in London, as part of her support for the film adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel.
Her attendance is now documented on Instagram with a personal note from the cast and crew, including author Maggie O’Farrell and actors Joe Alwyn and Jacky Jupe who play the lead roles. The Queen also had a chance to view costumes used in the film by costume designer Malgosia Turzanska during her visit.
“Her Majesty met author Maggie O’Farrell and cast members Joe Alwyn and Jacobi Jupe, who plays the titular role,” reads the caption on Instagram. “The Queen also viewed costumes from the film with Costume Designer Malgosia Turzanska.”
This special event was hosted by The Queen’s Reading Room in partnership with Universal and Focus Features. The reading room is a charity founded by Her Majesty in 2021, aimed at championing the transformative power of literature.
