Although the notification does not explicitly mention educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities, it is generally understood that a public holiday extends to these institutions as well, implying that they will likely be closed.

The Urs of the revered Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is observed annually starting on the 14th of Safar, the second month of the Islamic Hijri calendar, and spans three days. This year, the commemoration will commence on August 20.

Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai is celebrated for his profound contributions to Sufi poetry and his enduring spiritual legacy, which continues to inspire millions. The holiday allows people across Sindh to participate in the festivities and pay their respects to the great Sufi poet.
