A fisherman from Gwadar, Muhammad Tayyab, tragically lost his life while fishing in Iranian waters on Saturday. Officials confirmed the incident, stating that debris from an intercepted Israeli projectile struck his boat. Deputy Commissioner Naqibullah Kakar of Gwadar confirmed the event to Dawn newspaper. The incident occurred as tensions between Iran and Israel continued due to recent US-Israel attacks against Iran.

Attaur Rehman, District Police Officer, also verified the incident and explained that Tayyab was fishing in Iranian waters for oil extraction activities. Deputy Commissioner Kakar posited that an attempt had been made to target fishing boats in a coastal area of Sistan-Baluchistan province but that the projectile or drone was intercepted by Iran’s air defense system.

“The debris from the intercepted weapon hit Tayyab’s fishing boat, causing his death,” he stated. His body was later transported to Gannz, his hometown via sea transport before being buried there.

This incident underscores the volatile nature of relations between Iran and Israel, as well as the ongoing conflicts involving US involvement. Despite these tensions, Tehran has launched retaliatory strikes with drones and missiles against US assets in Gulf countries, further complicating regional stability.
