The Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) hosted a cheque distribution ceremony at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) in Karachi, celebrating exceptional students in Nursing and Arts & Culture. The event was attended by Syeda Hajra Sohail, CEO of PEEF, Vice Chancellors from partner institutions, academic personnel, students, and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, who was the Chief Guest.
During the ceremony, 137 students from 18 universities were awarded PEEF scholarships totaling approximately Rs. 48 million. These scholarships honored the students’ outstanding achievements and dedication in their respective fields.
Syeda Hajra Sohail highlighted the importance of skill education in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application. She remarked, “PEEF is steadfast in its commitment to advancing skill development initiatives that better prepare our youth for the demands of the modern workforce. Our Fully Funded Scholarship Program is strategically designed to bolster employability in crucial sectors such as AI, Hospitality, IT, and Cybersecurity.”
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique, in his address, congratulated the scholarship recipients and emphasized the broader significance of the ceremony. He stated, “Today’s event symbolizes our recognition of the immense potential within our youth and our encouragement for them to reach even greater heights. The Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) plays a vital role in removing financial barriers to education. I commend PEEF for its exemplary efforts and the support of our educational institutions in empowering students. The Government of Pakistan remains committed to promoting education and ensuring that every individual has access to educational opportunities, fulfilling their constitutional right and our fundamental responsibility.”
